Getting Started
Welcome to QuantCAD
QuantCAD is an AI CAD platform that turns natural-language prompts into 3D parts and assemblies built as B-rep solids, which you review in your browser and export as STEP or STL.

What QuantCAD does today
- Generates 3D CAD parts and assemblies from text prompts you write in plain English, built as B-rep solids on the Open CASCADE kernel.
- Lets you iterate on a product through chat: request changes, ask questions, and switch between Build and Ask modes.
- Renders the result in an interactive 3D viewer with measurements, clipping planes, hide/show, and screenshots.
- Exports geometry as STEP (AP242, millimetres) for downstream CAD tools and STL (Draft, Normal, High) for 3D printing.
- Tracks each prompt as part of the product's revision history so you can browse versions over time.
Good fits
QuantCAD works best for the kinds of geometry you can describe unambiguously with sizes, holes, fillets, and standard features:
- • Brackets, mounting plates, fixtures and jigs
- • Enclosures and housings
- • Stands, holders, organizers and adapters
- • Mechanical parts with parametric features (holes, slots, fillets)
- • Quick prototypes you want to print on an FDM/SLA machine
Current limitations
Knowing what the platform doesn't do (yet) helps you stay productive:
- • Generated geometry is best-effort. Always verify dimensions, tolerances and intent in the 3D viewer before manufacturing.
- • Real-time multi-user collaboration, team workspaces, design review and notifications are Enterprise-only at this stage.
- • Imports of existing CAD files are not yet supported. Generation starts from a prompt.
- • Exports today are STEP and STL only. Other formats are not available.
How it works
Describe what you want to build
From the dashboard, click New Product and describe your part or assembly. Include sizes, materials of interest, holes, fillets, and any constraints.
Generate the first version
Build mode generates the model. Each prompt becomes a new revision attached to your product.
Review and iterate
Inspect the model in the 3D viewer. Use Ask mode to query measurements or sanity-check ideas; use Build mode to apply changes.
Export when you're happy
Download STEP for downstream CAD or STL for 3D printing, directly from the workspace or the Data Management page.
