Product Lifecycle
A visual Kanban board for tracking every product through Draft, Prototype In Work, In Review, Released and Obsolete.
Last updated
Overview
Open Product Lifecycle in the dashboard sidebar to see all your products grouped into stage columns. Cards summarize the title, ID, owner and timestamps; columns load more cards as you scroll. Use this view when you want to think in terms of the design process rather than a flat list.
The five stages
Draft
Early ideas. Use this for brand-new products you are still exploring.
Prototype In Work
Active iteration. Most prompting and revision work happens here.
In Review
Locked for review. Cannot be edited until moved back to Prototype In Work.
Released
Finalized for production or distribution.
Obsolete
Retired. Keep around for reference but no longer in active use.
Moving products between stages
There are two ways to change a product's lifecycle:
- 1. Drag and drop on the Kanban board. Pick up a product card from any column and drop it onto another. The change saves immediately.
- 2. Use the “Change lifecycle” dialog. From the dashboard list, open a row's lifecycle badge or dialog and pick a new stage.
The In Review lock
This lock is intentional: it keeps a stable snapshot while reviewers evaluate the design. Once review is complete, move the card forward to Released or back to Prototype In Work for further iteration.
Versions and revisions
Lifecycle is independent of the revision history inside a product:
- • Lifecycle is the high-level stage of a product (Draft → Released → …).
- • Revisions are individual snapshots produced by Build prompts. You can switch between revisions from the Versions menu inside the workspace.
- • Use Full Revision in the workspace to fork a revision into a brand-new product, then promote it through the lifecycle stages independently.
